Easter Tournament 2017

This year’s Easter Tournament was a great success – gorgeous Autumnal weather and a strong turnout contributed to three days of competitive tennis at Royal Kings Park Tennis Club.

One hundred and forty one entrants (73 visitors and 68 members) participated in both singles and doubles events, with Day 3 culminating in the Finals across all divisions.

Tennis play was carried out across all grass courts, with the historical Members Pavilion the central meeting point for signing in throughout the day. Many thanks to Claudio and staff from Next Generation for providing the mobile café, bar and catering options during the tournament.

On Saturday 15th April we ran our annual Bake-Off Competition, with entries on display in the Pavilion and available for tasting throughout the day. Congratulations to Cathy Chappell and her magnificent ‘Souffra’ that won first prize. Cathy has won a gold eggcup trophy and a Myers Voucher. Please see Easter Bake Off for photos and more information on the Easter Bake off.

The Dinner Dance on Sunday night had many players hitting the dance floor showing off their dance moves to Scott’s music from Dynamite DJ’s. A big thank you to Chef Gina Wass from Next Generation, who provided the catering.

The presentation for winners and runners up, raffle draws and Lucky Door Prize were all announced at the end of the Finals on Monday 17th April. The Members Pavilion was packed full as RKPTC President Bruno Camarri played Master of Ceremonies.

The Lucky Draw Prize always generates great excitement, and the winners this year were:

Karen Campbell: $1000.00
Sarah Knapp: $500.00
Emma Hammond: $250.00

We also appreciate Coach Ryan Maxfield, Platinum Sports and Next Generation for all providing winning vouchers on the night.

Now to the exciting part!

Congratulations to all our winners and runners-up. You have received engraved glasses with the RKPTC logo as a memento of the tournament. A table of Division winners and runners-up can be found here.
